Estes Blurzz Dragster

We received the new Estes Blurz dragster in-stock.  Pretty neat.  I watched a You Tube video of the car in action.  Looks fun for a father/Son/daughter project.  Easy to set up track (A 90′ line and parachute trip wire)  The car runs on pavement and is reasonably fast but not scarey fast.  I think kids will love it but they would need adult help setting things up.  $29.99 each in stock at Flightline Hobby.  You will need the motors A10PT, 9 Volt and some recovery wadding.  All in stock at Flightline Hobby.  Estes says:

A neat product that some how has a Retro feel to me.  Fun stuff.



Blade Chroma

We received the new Blade Chroma.  Beautiful machine!  I think horizon felt the QX350 Name had enough numbers behind it so time to move on.  The Chroma reminds me of the next generation of QX350, but better.  A little bigger and loaded with features.  30 minute flight times.  I plan on carrying the BNF BLH8680 version for my Spectrum friends, no camera.  And then the CGO2 equipped version BLH8665 with gimbal, Blade 2.4 Transmitter ready to go.  Both machines and spare battery are in stock.  IMG_1339 IMG_1327 IMG_1328

Joe had his Hanger 9 P-47 that I built a year or so back, Tim Had his Hanger9 Bf-109 they did some flying together. Nice sounds.  Joe was also working on his Italian fighter running the new engine.  The Saito FA-100Ti is unique with its inline layout.  I flew my Mega Bat (Upcoming kit) Habu and my Artizan.  So for me it was a foamy night.  Started very windy (25 gusts) but settled right down at dusk.

Flying 6-3 to 6-15 Training and a Scale Meet

The last couple of weeks have been wet but between showers we managed to get in some flying.  Thursday evening was training night.  I helped one gentlemen “Brian” that flew F-4 Phantoms earlier in life.  Brian’s grand daughter “Macy” was their too and did a bit of trainer cord flying on the clubs trainer.  Brian’s goal is to fly a model F-4 in the future. I did 9 training flights that evening, good nights work.

On the 13th we had a PMAC Warbird flying event.  I took my Fokker Dr I.  Joe Fialka did a great job.  We had steaks for the first 40 pilots and SPAM for some of the awards.  That’s one way (Food) to get modellers to show up!  There were even barrage balloons in the parking lot keeping an enemy fighter sweep at bay.  Always something new at Joe’s events.  The weather cooperated and we did a lot of flying.  I think we had 8 World War I birds in the air at one point performing a “Dusk” patrol. Curt Spicer was there as well.  Always good to see Curt, he is a good builder and fun to talk to. John Valencia came out with his family.  They would all cheer when he would land. Fun stuff.   Other local clubs RCCD, Skymasters, Holly Club and a few I forget were there.  Always nice when outside flyers attend.

Tuesday Flying June 2nd

Tuesday flying was special this week.  It was my birthday!  My sons and the grand-kids showed up at the field.  It was really nice of them to make the extra effort to come out to the “Weed Patch” as my dear mother used to call any flying field.  I flew my GP Fokker DRI.  I enjoy this bird. I bought her a few years back crunched up.  Rebuilt her and sprayed a coat of KlassKote Satin to dull her down and lengthen the life span reducing oil intrusion. She is not hard to fly but is nervous, always doing something.  She also likes rudder and aileron so to fly her well you use both hands.  I like that.  Reminds me of helicopters.  We also did a group jet fly and Scott had his fleet of electrics.

After a few hours of flying we went to eat, It was a really nice day.
